Watch Patti Labelle Forgets Lyrics During Bet Awards Tribute To Tina Turner & Gets Roasted On Social Media

 Social media users registered their disappointment on Sunday night after the legendary singer Patti LaBelle's tribute to the late Tina Turner went off the rails during the 2023 BET Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The 79-year-old R&B star was performing a cover of one of Turner's most popular songs, The Best but she forgot several of the lyrics during the high-profile performance. I'm trying y'all, she said to defend herself during an improvised moment in the song. But viewers on Twitter mocked the performance mercilessly and joked about Turner's reaction from Heaven though LaBelle managed to carry herself as gracefully as possible under the circumstances. The singer seemed to indicate that the missing lyrics were a result of her being unable to see the teleprompter properly which suggests she may not have had the song memorized.
